Uralita takes over independent management and strengthens the Sant Adrià de Besòs plant as an industrial hub.

In 1973, Uralita assumed independent management of the licence, establishing Industrias Químicas Procolor, S.A. This marked the beginning of a period of business consolidation and the development of the company’s own identity in the Spanish paint market. The Sant Adrià de Besòs plant strengthened its position as the company’s main production facility thanks to its strategic location within the Barcelona metropolitan area. From there, manufacturing and distribution processes were streamlined, specialised formulations were developed for professional painters, and the technical product range was expanded, enabling the company to establish itself as a specialist leader in a market dominated by generalist manufacturers.
