In 2018, Endesa Generación and Metrovacesa set up the company Front Marítim del Besòs to oversee the redevelopment of the 32-hectare site. The project proposed a mixed-use development combining housing, retail and office spaces and cultural amenities, and was built in collaboration with the Government of Catalonia and the municipal councils concerned. In 2021, an agreement was signed to demolish the wall along Carrer Eduard Maristany and improve connectivity between Sant Adrià and Badalona.
On 7 March 2023, the Urban Development Master Plan (PDU) was approved, setting out the planning framework for the waterfront site and the guidelines for its integration into the wider metropolitan area, marking the beginning of a new chapter in urban regeneration.
